Mountain People Farmer's Market

To coincide with our current exhibition, The Collie, The Cheviot and The Crouched Skeleton, by artist and shepherd Orla Barry, Rua Red is excited to announce the Mountain People Farmer’s Market in Parthalán Place, Tallaght on Saturday 08 August.

The Mountain People Farmer’s Market brings farmers, producers, and crafters who are based in the Dublin Mountains together to take part in a day of market stalls and fun agri-fair type activities. Celebrating the people and produce that the Dublin Mountains areas have to offer, this event is a chance for you to engage with rural and agricultural practices and culture in the local area.

This event is part of the exhibition programme for The Collie, The Cheviot and The Crouched Skeleton, a major new commission by Orla Barry showing in Rua Red Gallery until 26 September. In the preparation for this exhibition, Orla spent time and built connections with farmers living and working in areas such as Glenasmole, Bohernabreena, and Glencullen, and developed this work through conversation, storytelling and farm walks.
