SP in musicians.' - Pádraic\nGrant\, The Thin Air\n\n'Cellist Reidy and ex
perimental all-rounder Beylis conjure the otherworldly\nwonder of the fore
st' – Eoin Murray\, The Quietus\n\n\n\nOriginally released in 2023 on Nyah
h Records\, ‘She Came Through the Window to\nStand by the Door’ was writte
n and performed by cellist Eimear Reidy and keys\nplayer Natalia Beylis an
d recorded at St Georges Church\, Carrick On Shannon\,\nLeitrim in a cold
early January with a William Telford Organ. Built in 1846\, it\nis reputed
to be the second oldest organ in Ireland. Eimear & Natalia are\nmarking a
2026 repress of the album with a special duo performance in the\nmagnific
ent surroundings of the Dublin Unitarian Church on Stephen's Green.\n\nThe
album features two long tracks.\n\nTRACK 1/SIDE A: 'Pour Upon The Sky' is
a story told by the two voices of cello\nand organ. Influenced by the rhe
torical style of 18th century vocal music\, the\ninspiration for this piec
e came naturally to Eimear who has a background in\nearly music and has pe
rformed alongside the organ in a variety of settings from\nchamber works t
o Bach's larger orchestral works such as St Matthew Passion. In\n18th cent
ury music\, the cello & organ perform a role as continuo players.\nTraditi
onally the cello and organ are both intertwined and interdependent\,\nplay
ing the bass line and harmonies together and providing a foundation for th
e\nrest of the ensemble while soloists come in and out.\n\nIn 'Pour Upon T
he Sky'\, Eimear and Natalia play within and without of this\ntraditional
form. Freed from the need to hold the solid ground for an ensemble\,\nthe
cello and organ playfully explore the space as they pass the role of solo\
	nand continuo back and forth.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SbQdRzGw
	D4\n[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SbQdRzGwD4]\n\nTRACK 2/SIDE B: 'The
Whistling Dust' is a slow steady study of the microscopic\nflutters of the
organs and the organ. The heart of the Telford rattles and\nbreathes as t
he cello dances in and out. When Natalia & Eimear began working on\nthese
pieces in the cold January\, the Telford\, which seemed like it had been\n
sitting quietly for quite some time\, shook and trembled as its insides we
re\nawoken. 'The Whistling Dust' speaks to the moment when the instrument
moved\nalive\, every opened stop knob of the pipes bringing the feel of th
e microsounds\nof the machine closer and closer as the cello offers uttera
	nces of\nencouragement.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZPuYmbL4gI\n[h
	ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZPuYmbL4gI]\n\n\n\nThe cover for the album
is taken from Breda Lynch's mysterious 'Blue Dyke'\nseries and speaks to
the enigmatic atmosphere of the music.\n\nhttps://nyahhrecords.bandcamp.co
