DESCRIPTION:In the Fold of the Earth is a two-person exhibition by emerging
artists Lisa\nO’Sullivan & Leslie Allen Spillane at Cork Printmakers Stud
	io Gallery. \n\nOpening reception: 5PM Thursday 14th May\, all welcome\n\n
The exhibition explores poetic and symbolic connections between the human
and\nnon-human world. Working primarily through print-based practices\, ph
otography\,\nand expanded media\, both artists reflect themes of eco-consc
iousness\, ritual\,\nand psychological transformation within an environmen
tally precarious world.\nNature is a metaphorical and philosophical anchor
in both artists’ practice.\nO'Sullivan explores ecological collapse and f
ailing systems through mythological\nframeworks informed by folklore\, rit
ual and re-enchantment with the natural\nworld. Spillane utilises plant-ba
sed photographic processes to explore\nconflicting measures of time. The c
yclical seasons of plant life\, the cultural\nimposition of the Gregorian
calendar\, and the chronoception of the human body\nare in conflict and in
	 conversation with each other. \n
